1988Winter Reported on the Grand Marais, Fergus Falls and nine additional central and south CBCs. A total of about 19 individuals (21 l.y.) including Aitkin 1/29 SC.
1989Spring Early south 3/1 Houston EMF, 3/2 Sherburne DO, Olmsted AB; early north 3/2 Otter Tail SDM, 4/5 Beltrami DJ, Marshall SKS. (The early March dates may be wintering birds or extremely early migrants).

1989Winter About 37 birds (19 l.y.) reported from 25 counties may reflect the mild winter and large prey base. Northern reports came from Roseau 2/17 at Lost River State Forest MO; 1/20 Beltrami fide TD; St. Louis; and Aitkin 12/23 WN.

1990Winter About 24 birds (37 I. y.) reported from 17 counties (25 l.y.) is down somewhat from recent years, perhaps reflecting a lower prey base. Overwintered in Sherburne with northem reports from Aitkin, Itasca, Duluth CBC, and Mille Lacs 2/3 KR.

1992Winter Approximately 25 individuals reported from 17 counties, with only three north reports: 12/4 Becker BBe; 12/2, 12/19 (Bemidji CBC) & 2/11 Beltrami DJo (all the same bird?); and 1/29 St. Louis (Duluth) fide KE. Most reports were from December and January CBC total 12.

1993Winter Reported from 16 counties (17 l.y.). Only report in north was 1/6–14 Beltrami DJo. Reports were distributed slightly in favor of February (migrants?).

1996Summer Observed in 11 northern counties as far south as Wadena, Crow Wing, Carlton; plus a well-documented individual seen 7/13 Washington DN.
